Crawling Creatures Kids’ Zip-Up Hoodie

This cozy zip-up hooded sweatshirt features The Met logo on the front and a delightful nature scene (1788) by Kitagawa Utamaro (Japanese, ca. 1754–1806) on the back. The celebrated Edo-period artist made this meditative picture of two butterflies and a dragonfly buzzing around silky petals for the Picture Book of Crawling Creatures, a collection of poems published by Tsutaya Jūzaburō. It’s one of 15 designs of insects and other garden creatures that Utamaro created for this book.
