Egyptian Feather Motif Coated Canvas Duffle Bag

The timeless motif on our coated canvas duffle bag is inspired by a feather-patterned glass inlay (200 B.C–A.D. 100) from Egypt and housed at The Met. The use of a mosaic technique facilitated the repetition on the original fragment; a figural or design composition was made by bundling colored glass canes, which were drawn out into a long bar. The bar was then sectioned at right angles to produce small inlay tiles.
