The Flame-Stitch Latchet Shoe Ornament is based on a pair of 18th-century British wool, linen, and metal latchet shoes. The original heels are embellished with so-called bargello, or flame-stitch, embroidery—popular in the late 17th and 18th centuries—in a remarkable zigzag pattern, which we’ve translated onto our hand-painted resin ornament.
