Fuchsia T-Strap Shoe Ornament

Women’s footwear has embraced more variations since 1900 than in the entire previous history of fashion. Balancing function and fantasy, the great designers of the 20th century have created some of the most beautiful shoes ever made, adapting styles from the past with a contemporary sensibility. The Museum’s carefully detailed shoe ornaments capture the charm and grace of the actual shoes, now in the collection of the Museum’s Costume Institute.

The Fuchsia T-Strap Shoe Ornament is based on a pair of bejeweled Jazz Age pumps made in France around 1927. We’ve translated the original T-strap heels of fuchsia and peach pearlized leather into a hand-painted resin ornament.
