Kelly: Blue Green Red Holiday Cards

Send season’s greetings with our holiday cards featuring Ellsworth Kelly’s (American, 1923–2015) Blue Green Red (1963) in The Met collection. Unlike many abstract painters of his generation, Kelly’s compositions were derived from his surroundings; the shapes and colors in his imagery were often based on an observed reality or the memory of an architectural motif. This painting is the first in a series of eight large-scale pictures in these bold colors.
