Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848–1933) embodied the artistic spirit of America’s Gilded Age, and this journal celebrates his visual ingenuity. In the early 1890s, he developed a method of blending different colors together in glass while it was in a molten state, thus achieving subtle effects of shading and texture. An iridescent Favrile glass vase with a peacock feather motif in The Met collection represents the height of his achievements.
