This colorful beaded bracelet reinterprets an ancient Egyptian necklace with shell pendants (1859–1770 B.C.) in The Met collection. This exceptional adornment was formerly in the possession of a noblewoman named Senebtisi, whose mummy was discovered with exquisite ritual jewelry suggesting an association with royalty. The discovery of her remarkable tomb was revelatory at the time of its excavation in the early 20th century.
