Art jewelry makes a unique gift for her
In his acclaimed Venus in Front of a Mirror, painted about 1614–15, Peter Paul Rubens (Flemish, 1577–1640) portrays the voluptuous Venus, goddess of love, with her back to the viewer. Her son, the boyish god Amor, holds a mirror that allows the viewer to meet Venus’s gaze in reflection. She wears nothing but a bracelet and a pair of pearl earrings—one white, the other (reflected in the mirror) appearing black. Our elegant jewelry with gleaming cultured freshwater pearls celebrates the goddess’s alluring adornments.
